Nancy Alice Mendenhall, 70, of Baker, Oklahoma passed away November 23, 2010 at Vitas Hospice in Houston, Texas.
Nancy was born December 2, 1939 in Texas County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Leland and Bernice Harter Scott. She attended school in Baker and graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1958.
On August 10, 1957, Nancy was united in marriage to Paul Mendenhall in Clayton, New Mexico. Paul worked for a gas company south of Turpin for one year and then they moved to Wichita, Kansas where he attended Wichita Business College for two years.
They moved back to Baker where they lived their lives and loved their kids.
She was a member of the Baker United Methodist Church; she worked part time at the Baker Post Office; she was a member of the Texas County Home Extension and Denim and Lace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Paul in June of 2010.
Survivors include two sons, Randy and his wife Shannon of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mike and his wife Sheri of Duncan, Oklahoma; one daughter, Melinda Munger and her husband, Thomas of Katy, Texas; three brothers, Bob & Lavonna Scott of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Walter & Heidi Scott of Galena, Illinois, L.J. and Cindy Scott of Hooker, Oklahoma; four sisters, Roberta Cantwell of Turpin, Oklahoma, Ethel Mae Abel of Baker, Oklahoma, Thelma Jean & Duane Lambert of Kismet, Kansas, Thelda Dean & Everett Baker of Liberal, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Brett, Alyssa, Alysson and Trevor Mendenhall, Makenna, Gage and Cole Munger.
Memorial contribution are suggested to the Baker United Methodist Church and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Turpin United Methodist Church in Turpin, Oklahoma with Rev. Todd Bergman officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery with Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
