Gary Gibson Obituary

In Loving Memory of Gary Gibson (May 10, 1950 – March 29, 2024)

Gary Gibson, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and pillar of his community, passed away on March 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on May 10, 1950, Gary's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and unwavering devotion to his family.

For over 53 years, Gary shared a deep and enduring bond with his beloved wife, Mary Ann Lines, of Guymon, Oklahoma. Together, they navigated life's ups and downs with grace and strength, creating a home filled with love, warmth, and compassion.

Gary was a man of many talents and passions. As a skilled mechanic, he possessed an innate ability to fix anything that came his way, earning the admiration of all who knew him. He was also a dedicated farmer, tending to the land with care and dedication. In addition to his work, Gary served his community with pride as a part-time police officer in Hooker, Oklahoma, and later as a bus driver for Hooker schools, where his kindness and jovial spirit brightened the days of countless children.

Above all, Gary was a loving father to his three children: Jeremy Dale of Redmond, Oregon; Kerri Marie of Hooker, Oklahoma; and Iva Lou of Pueblo West, Colorado. He was also a proud grandfather to numerous grandchildren, including Ashton, Emily, Mark, Parker, Steven, and Tiberius, whom he adored with all his heart.

Gary's adventurous spirit and love for his family were evident in his annual tradition of taking them to Red River, NM every August after harvest, creating cherished memories against the backdrop of nature's beauty. He also had a passion for cars, fishing, and spending quality time with his loved ones, sharing countless stories and laughter along the way.

One of Gary's most remarkable adventures took him to the southernmost point of South America while working for an oil company—a journey that embodied his spirit of exploration, curiosity, and fearlessness.

Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved and touched. May his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness continue to inspire us all, guiding us through life's joys and challenges with the same grace and strength that he exemplified.

Rest in peace, Gary Gibson. Your spirit will forever shine bright in our hearts.
